Introduction to Genealogy
With the holidays coming up soon, many people have started thinking about their extended family and their family tree. Have you ever wondered about your family tree? Not sure how to start searching for your ancestors? Come join us for an Introduction to Genealogy. From what questions to ask and where to start searching to how to keep track of the information you find we'll get you started on your search.

Online Genealogy Resources
Are you ready to start working on your family tree? ICPL provides access to a variety databases that can help. Ancestry and Family Search are two of the largest and most well known online genealogy resources. We'll walk through basic searching on each and explain the differences between the two. We'll also take a look at other databases like Newspaper Archives or Find A Grave which are useful in researching your family tree.
Cards at Craft Night in the Lab
We're making greeting cards this month! In response to many requests for help printing digital card files or wanting idea for handmade cards, we're giving Craft Night a card focus. Card-making supplies will be provided (including embossing powder! you'll love it!) or bring your own materials and things you'd like to scan. Other craft projects are also welcome, as usual.
Intermediate Photoshop
Let's take the next step in Photoshop and learn compositing: combining multiple photos into a new, seamless creation. For those who have taken Photoshop for Beginners or have equivalent experience.
Video Editing Drop-In Help
Have you been frustrated by Adobe Premiere Pro? Do you have bigger video ideas than your current skill level permits? Here's a special treat! Bond, the library's AV specialist, will be on hand to help with your questions, big or small. This won't happen again anytime soon, so make sure to catch it!
Graphic Design Hangout
If you like to make things in any design software (such as Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, GIMP, or Canva) but could use some extra motivation, bring your own projects to this relaxed coworking session.
Custom Candle Holders
Find a new way to enjoy a favorite photo by using the packing tape sticker method! Your one-of-a-kind sticker will go on a glass candle holder (actually an upcycled yogurt jar), making a custom decoration or unique gift. Supplies are provided.
We hope to see you in the Digital Media Lab or on Zoom this month!
