Anne Frank’s 95th birthday this year serves as a poignant reminder of her enduring legacy in inspiring young people worldwide to express themselves through writing. In contemporary and global contexts, her story resonates deeply with themes of identity and resistance against oppression and injustice.
Join us for a transformative workshop delving into the singular power of narrative to express struggle and triumph, and to call people to action. Through engaging discussions, creative activities and reflective writing exercises, we’ll explore how young voices illuminate the depths of human experience and pave the way for a more just and compassionate world.
The session will culminate in a creative piece that each student can choose to showcase at this year’s Iowa City Book Festival.
