02/01/2024 4:00pm 02/01/2024 5:00pm Totally Tweens: Botanical Bookmarks Recognize Black History Month by learning about an African American STEM pioneer and creating a craft that celebrates his legacy! Learn about Charles S. Parker, a pathbreaking journalist, botanist, and Army officer, through a read-aloud of a picture book biography about his life entitled "Rooting for Plants: The Unstoppable Charles S. Parker, Black Botanist and Collector" by Janice N. Harrington. Then, in the spirit of his scientific processes in botanical discovery, select from an array of dried plants, arrange and label them, then press into a laminated bookmark you can keep and remember Charles S. Parker whenever you use it. This event is open to 3rd-6th graders. 为庆祝黑人历史月,今天的活动我们将了解一位非裔美国人 STEM 先驱,并制作手工来纪念他的精神遗产。 首先阅读珍妮丝 ·哈灵顿所著的传记绘本《为植物而扎根 - 黑人植物学家和收藏家:查尔斯·S·帕克 (Charles S. Recognize Black History Month by learning about an African American STEM pioneer and creating a craft that celebrates his legacy!
