The Navy Band Great Lakes provides musical support for military and public engagements throughout an 11-state area of responsibility including Iowa. From its first performance in July 1911, to Lieutenant Commander John Philip Sousa's 300-piece Bluejacket Band, to today's continuing mission of representing Commander, Naval Service Training Command, the band enjoys a rich history of serving the Sailors and citizens of the Midwest with pride and distinction.
ICPL is pleased to host Fair Winds, a versatile woodwind ensemble with repertoire consisting of a variety of styles including Classical, Military Marches, and Patriotic compositions. This fun and educational concert suitable for all ages will be hosted outside on the Pedmall stage for all Iowa Citizens to enjoy, with a rain location in Meeting Room A.
