Along with the excitement over widespread democratic participation, however, are concerns over the influence Artificial Intelligence (AI) may have in corrupting the process. AI-supported voter manipulation through deep fakes and vising, misinformation campaigns, and simple information overload are serious threats on a scale that has never been seen. What exactly are these AI tactics? Have they actually been used? Can they be detected? Are there ways to stop them for the future?
