The Iowa City Public Library’s Totally Tweens program has an exciting lineup of activities and programs for students in third through sixth grades.
September 10: Reading Remix
3:30 to 4:30 p.m. in Meeting Room A
Have you ever wanted to change a boring story? Join us today to get creative and make some changes. Get inspired by the literary mash-up "Battle Bunny" by Jon Scieszka.
October 8: Author Visit with Sarah Prineas
3:30 to 4:30 p.m. in the Storytime Room
Local author Sarah Prineas, author of the Magic Thief series, will share insights into her writing process and advice for aspiring young writers.
October 30: Creepy Lock-In
6:30 to 9:30 p.m. in Meeting Room A
Celebrate Halloween by staying late at ICPL. Enjoy a spooky movie, snacks and more before taking over the library after it closes. Permission slips required.
November 12: Knit-In
3:30 to 4:30 p.m. in the Storytime Room
Learn some basics of knitting. We'll provide knitting needles and yarn to get you started on a simple scarf. All skill levels welcome.
November 14: Chess Tournament
12:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. in Meeting Rooms A, B, C, D
Sign-up to compete in the library's annual Chess Tournament. Refreshments will be provided. Registration is required by email to Eric Vigil: evigil@gmail.com.
December 10: Minute to Win It
