Iowa City Public Library, in collaboration with the Library’s Friends Foundation and Iowa City Parks & Recreation are bringing to Iowa City a brand new, permanent BookWalk installation in Willow Creek Park, located at 1117 Teg Drive. BookWalk is an interactive way for readers of all ages to enjoy storytime and the outdoors.
On Sunday, June 13 from 1 to 2 p.m., we will hold a special event in the Willow Creek Shelter House to celebrate the kickoff of the BookWalk installation. Come with your family and friends and meet author Jacqueline Briggs Martin and illustrator Claudia McGehee as they read aloud their book “Creekfinding: A True Story,” and then read the storyboards as you stroll through the park.
BookWalk will be accessible year round during normal park hours. The installation will change with a new book every few weeks, so be sure to enjoy each one while it’s available.
