Press ReleaseThe All Ages Winter Reading Program is back, and this year it will be a “Hoot!”


The Winter Reading Program is for readers age 3 and up, kids through adults, and runs from Dec. 12, 2021 through Feb. 12, 2022.

Sign up for the Winter Reading Program at the Children’s Desk, on the Bookmobile, or online at icpl.org/wrp. Participants can log their reading online, or with the printed game card available at the Library, on the Bookmobile, or on our website.

Those who finish the program by Saturday, Feb. 12, 2022 will receive a hot cocoa mug and be entered into a grand prize drawing for an Iowa City Downtown District gift card!

Library visitors are invited to a special Owl Storytime on Saturday, Dec. 11 at 10:30 a.m. to kick off the Winter Reading Program! Visitors should use the West Entrance facing the playground on their way into Storytime, to greet a special owl guest from local raptor education program Raptology. After Storytime, Mia from Green Iowa will provide crafts and activities.
