The Community Writing Centers - a long running program of the Libraries of Iowa City and Coralville and Kirkwood Community College that provides writing assistance to the public ceased operations in 2020 due to COVID-19. We are happy to announce that they will return to both Iowa City and Coralville Public Libraries the end of this month.
The Community Writing Centers provide one-on-one writing assistance for teens and adults from Kirkwood Community College writing faculty at both the Iowa City and Coralville Public Libraries. They will be at Coralville Public Library on Tuesdays from 4-6pm and at Iowa City Public Library on Thursdays from 6-8pm.
You can get assistance with all types of writing: letters, emails, resumes, applications, reports, essays, legal documents, letters to the editor, school projects or creative writing - all writing is welcome. Walk-in 20-minute sessions are first come, first served, and are free and open to the public.

Where you'll see me in the library: I work at the Information Desk, the Help Desk and in the Digital Media Lab during Drop-in Tech Help. I teach some of the Genealogy workshops and I'll be at most of the Library Events & Programs for adults too, so I'm pretty much everywhere.
