It's time to take the cuttings!!
One of the great things about having houseplants is watching them grow and multiply and then giving the babies to other plant lovers. Do you have houseplants you'd like to share? Something you could take cuttings from or that needs to be devided? Would you like to add something new to your plant collection? The ICPL Spring Houseplant Swap is on April 8. So there's still time to take cuttings!
Each person may swap up to 5 plants or rooted cuttings. Plant drop off is from 1-1:30pm and the Swap will begin at 2:00 (after we get all the donations organized). You'll receive one ticket per donated plant, and each ticket will guarantee you one new plant to take home. At 2:30, or once all tickets are claimed, any plants left will be free for anyone to take - you don't have to have brought a plant to get plants at the end of the swap. (If you bring more than 5 plants to the drop-off we won't turn you away).
There will be no repotting at the event. Please only bring plants in pots that will go home with them, and put your cuttings in ziplock bags with a damp paper towel. Please label your plants.
We will also have Iowa Native Prairie Pollinator seed mix to give away for those interested in establishing outdoor pollinator gardens. Seed will be available while it lasts, first come first served.
