Curbside Holds Pickup Coming Soon Beginning June 4th, the Iowa City Public Library will offer Curbside Holds Pickup service. Curbside Holds Pickup will first be available for those with materials already on Hold. Community members with Holds currently available have the option to sign-up for a scheduled time for Curbside Holds Pickup or request their items be sent to their home via US Mail. Curbside Holds Pickup will be offered Mondays-Fridays 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Saturdays 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. These times may change as the service develops.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Iowa City Public Library announces these updates: The downtown library building will remain closed to the public until further notice. There will be no in-person library programs, public meeting room use, or ICPL Bookmobile service until possibly mid-August. Starting Monday, May 4, library staff will resume answering phone calls to 319-356-5200 between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The mission of the ICPL Friends Foundation is to generate private resources to support the Iowa City Public Library.

The Library's Art Advisory Committee needs new members to advise Library staff. We’re looking for candidates who are involved and interested in the arts community in some way — artists, framers, instructors, students, gallery employees, collectors and serious enthusiasts — to join the Committee. The Art Advisory Committee has six members, and terms run for three years (this term would end in April 2023). Candidates must reside in Iowa City or rural Johnson County and are appointed to the Committee by the Library Board. Library employees are not eligible for appointment.

The Library Board recently reviewed the Library's Confidentiality and Privacy Policy. This policy defines how the Library serves as custodian of records, protects this confidential informaiton and responds to requests for information about Library patrons.

There's a new Transit survey designed to solicit feedback from community members about changes in services provided by Iowa City Transit, Coralville Transit and CAMBUS. The survey is available through Friday February 21st.

A special effort to ensure kids and teens who visit the Library don’t go hungry has raised $3,000 to purchase daily afternoon snacks. The Alternative Christmas Team at Zion Lutheran Church in Iowa City identified this need after hearing about food insecurity issues in our community.
