Color our world, and celebrate diverse cultures from around the globe! Every Wednesday during our Summer Reading Program, elementary-age kids are invited to join us for a new event where they can explore and experience unique cultures and traditions from different countries.
Travel back to ancient Egypt and discover hieroglyphs! A cartouche is an oval-shaped nameplate used by pharaohs, engraved with hieroglyphic symbols that were believed to protect them and make sure their names were remembered forever.
Join us today as we create our own cartouches out of clay and carve names using real hieroglyphs. It’s a fun and creative way to explore ancient history and take home a personalized piece of the past!
If you need disability-related accommodations in order to participate in this event, please contact the Library.
This event is open to the public.
