Every Wednesday during our Summer Reading Program, elementary-age kids are invited to join us for a new event where they can explore and experience unique cultures and traditions from different countries. Tai Chi is an ancient Chinese practice that combines slow, graceful movements with deep breathing and meditation. It originated as a martial art but has evolved into a holistic exercise known for its health benefits. In this kids-friendly session, instructor Dan (Sharon) Song will gently introduce the basics of Tai Chi through fluid, easy-to-follow movements aimed at harmonizing the body and mind. Dan (Sharon) Song is a gold medalist in national and international Tai Chi competitions, has trained under esteemed Tai Chi masters, and has been teaching Tai Chi to a variety of audiences for over fifteen years.
