Book to Art Club is the fourth Tuesday of every month for school age children. Each month we will read a picture book and create custom art inspired by the story!
This month we are celebrating Women's History Month, so for our activity and book we will recognize one of the most influential artists of all time, Frida Kahlo! Mexican artist Frida Kahlo is remembered for her self-portraits, her dramatic works featuring bold and vibrant colors. Her work brought attention to Mexican and indigenous culture and she is also renowned for her works celebrating the female form.
After we read about her cultural impact, we will create paper floral crowns to honor the style she is seen wearing in portraits!
