Storytime Room
Join us on the second Tuesday of every month for a new Books to Cooks Club, where read a picture book and make a delicious after school snack from the story! This program is for K-6th grade.
The Winter Solstice, coming up on December 21st, marks the shortest day of the year, as well as the official beginning of winter—a phenomenon caused by the tilt of the Earth’s axis away from the sun. Although it's the day of greatest darkness, the Solstice is a time of great hope, as we start to move towards the Summer Solstice once again. Today we will read a new Winter Solstice book by Kate Allen Fox, called "Winter Solstice Wish," and we will learn about a few solstice traditions. For our treat we will use snack cakes to create mini-yule log cakes and use citrus to make pomanders to take home!
Please let staff be aware of any food allergies if attending any Books to Cooks Club programs.
If you need disability-related accommodations in order to participate in this event, please contact the Library.
This event is open to the public.
