Monday, August 14, 2023 - 7:00pm to 8:00pm
Wouldn't you like to know more life-giving, wholesome corners of the internet? Most of the internet may be a soul-sucking void, but there are groups and accounts that truly embody the intent of social media: to connect rather than isolate, and to uplift rather than spark fights and trolling.
But how to find these? We did it for you! Join us on Zoom for a tour of the best wholesome & cozy accounts to follow and groups to join, focusing on authentic, independent content (but not emotionally-manipulative, polished "heartwarming" drivel).
Examples:
- View From My Window (Facebook group)
- Humans of New York (Facebook and Instagram account)
- chloebensinger (Instagram account with stopmotion videos of a felted wool moth going about daily life)
Yes, we're jaded about the internet too, so let's see if we can correct that!
Instructor: Stacey McKim (with input from other ICPL staff!)
Please register to receive the Zoom login details.
