Join us virtually for a live, guided art workshop for tweens!
Under the tutelage of Becky Popelka, art instructor and owner of Big Picture Gallery and Studio, tweens will create an abstract still life using oils and watercolors. The following elements of art and principles of design will be explored: color and contrast, shape and unity, line and pattern, space and balance. In addition, the painting technique of blending watercolors will be used to achieve this project. Those working at all skill levels can create a dynamic composition - using the accessible, basic shape of a circle, a brilliant bouquet of abstract flowers will leap off the page.
Materials will be provided, and will be distributed by curbside pickup a few days before the event. Once you've signed up, an email with more specific instructions regarding receiving materials, and instructions for joining our virtual meeting, will be shared. This program is for kids in grades 3-6.
If you need disability-related accommodations in order to participate in this event, please contact the Library.
This event is open to the public.
