The Mormon Trek Remote Book Return is unavailable until further notice. We're working on a replacement. Please return books to the Downtown Library or to the Eastside book return at the First Avenue Hy-Vee. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
Our remote book returns handle an average of 15% of total returns to the Library. In FY16 the Library circulated 1,369,069 items. Library Staff empty the books returns 365 days a year. Please check back for more information.

Kara was the Community and Access Services Coordinator. She retired in June 2020.

Thanks, Margaret. We are working on replacing it. Unfortunately it may take a couple months. We were hoping our vendor would have a spare they could loan us but, alas, there's not a loaner available. We'll post updates on the Library Blog.
Good news! The new book returns are on "expedited" order! Hopefully they will be here in the next 3 weeks. The size changed since we ordered them 18 years ago. To get the capacity needed we ordered three square units instead of a square and a rectangle. In the new returns, all materials will go into all the bins - no presorting by format. We'll keep you posted about the delivery date. Thank you for your patience!!

please do replace the Mormon Trek return box. I use it almost daily -- it is very helpful
Are there a book and AV boxes at the East side location? Perhaps one could be moved to Mormon trek and both locations could have just one box for both types of materials for a couple months.
