ICPL takes Tech Zone on the road to YOUR neighborhood


TECHZONEposter13x19 Do you need FREE access to a computer? Do you have technology questions? Need help with a portable device? Want to write or tweak a resume? Learn how to use Google Docs? Or maybe you are curious about Library eBook collections?

This summer Iowa City Public Library takes its Tech Zone on the road to YOUR neighborhood.

Where: Pepperwood Plaza Police Substation, 1067 Highway 6 East in Iowa City. Ten computers with Internet access are available as well as wireless Internet access. Librarians will also be on hand to assist if needed.
When: Every Tuesday & Thursday, 1 to 4 p.m., June 5-August 9

Adults & teens who sign up for Summer Reading Programs at Pepperwood during Tech Zone hours, complete a Reading Task Sheet and turn it back in at Pepperwood will be entered into a drawing for a new Kindle Fire eReader. The drawing will be held at the End of Summer Party on August 9. You need not be present to win. All Summer Reading Program participants who turn in their Reading Task Sheet at Pepperwood will receive a special prize.

Summer Kick-off Party
1-4 p.m. June 5
Face painting, refreshments and video games. Sign-up for the Library’s Summer Reading Program and receive a special gift.

Video Games for Teens
1-4 p.m. on Thursdays

Children’s Storytimes
2 p.m. Tuesday, June 26 (Special Guest Iowa City Police Officer Jorey Bailey)
2 p.m. Tuesday, July 17

Computer Classes
First Thursday of the month at 1 p.m.
June 7 – Google Docs
July 5 – Facebook
August 2 – eBooks and eAudiobooks

End of Summer Party
1-4 p.m. August 9

On Tuesday, August 14, Tech Zone @ Pepperwood hours will switch to a fall schedule: Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3-6 p.m.
