When we launched our ICPL Staff Staff Picks in 2012, we did not have a young adult category despite the high number of YA enthusiasts that work at the Library.
We were sure to fix that this year.
Below are the YA books ICPL staff recommend. If you haven't visited the YA collection on the Library's second floor, this is your perfect excuse!

If you are leery of picking up a YA novel, let us remind you that a 2012 study by Bowker Market Research found that more than half of young adult novels are purchased by adults (18 years and older). The largest group of readers buying YA books is the 30- to 44-year-old demographic. Sure, some of these people are actually buying the books for a young adult, but many admit they they are buying them for themselves.
