Join us for a Black History Month book discussion of Zora Neale Hurston's classic Their Eyes Were Watching God. Considered a classic of the Harlem Renaissance, the novel explores main character Janie Crawford's "ripening from a vibrant, but voiceless, teenage girl into a woman with her finger on the trigger of her own destiny."
The discussion will be facilitated by Abena Sankofa Imhotep, Director of Sankofa Literary & Empowerment Group Des Moines.
This event is sponsored by the Iowa City Public Library and the City of Iowa City's Office of Equity & Human Rights.
