The Iowa City Public Library will welcome Lone Tree citizens with an information meeting, class on checking out eBooks, and children’s storytime from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, at the Lone Tree school library.
Lone Tree residents also can sign up for an Iowa City Public Library card at this time.
The City of Lone Tree and the Library official entered into a contract last month. This means residents of Lone Tree are now eligible for Iowa City Public Library Resident Cards and correlating resident services.
Resident Cards are issued to people living in the cities of Iowa City, Hills, Lone Tree and University Heights, or in unincorporated (rural) Johnson County. Persons owning property in these areas also are eligible for Resident Cards.
Resident cards enable patrons from these communities to access full Library collections and services, including eBooks and eMagazines; access reference databases from home or office; and interlibrary loans.
“We are happy to welcome Lone Tree’s residents to the Library and look forward to sharing our collections and services with them,” says Kara Logsden, the Library’s community and access services coordinator.
