The Iowa City Public Library Friends Foundation invites the public to attend a retirement reception for Maeve Clark on Friday, Dec. 20, 2019, from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in Meeting Room A of the Library, 123 S. Linn Street. There will be a brief program at 12:15 p.m. Light refreshments will be served.
Clark will retire from the Library on January 3 after 28 years of heading the Adult Services department and Information Desk. During her tenure, Clark oversaw the building of a new teen center and digital media lab, the creation of new classes, and the hosting of a variety of programs, including Irving Weber Days, which highlighted local history, and ECO-Iowa City, a collaboration with Public Works that focused on sustainable living.
Anyone wishing to make a donation to the Friends Foundation in Clark’s name can do so at www.icpl.org/about/donate.
