September is the month to brush up on your computer skills, whether it’s learning something new about your iPad or protecting your privacy online. What better way to celebrate intellectual freedom than exercising it through skill development at the Iowa City Public Library?

To start things off, join us for iPad Tips and Tricks on Saturday, September 9, at 10 a.m. and again on Monday, September 11, at 2 p.m. Learn useful tips and tricks for making the most out of your iPad. The class will go over customizing your device, keeping your iPad safe, getting the most out of your memory, and more. It’s suggested that participants take Explore your iPad before registering for this class.

Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of using the privacy settings on several social networks during our Social Media Safety Class on Monday, September 18, at 2 p.m. Learn how to adjust your settings and learn techniques for discovering the information that is already out there about you.

Join ICPL staff for Internet Safety: Protecting Your Privacy during our annual Carol Spaziani Intellectual Freedom Festival. Learn strategies and skills to protect yourself on Friday, September 29, at 10 a.m.
