Home Ec. Workshop, 207 N. Linn St., will host a sewing donation day for the Iowa City Public Library Friends Foundation Arts & Crafts Bazaar from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, October 26.
This free event will have some supplies and patterns on hand for projects that will be donated to the bazaar, but participants who want to bring in their own fabric and batting are welcome to do so. Some sewing machines will be available for use or participants may bring their own.
Co-owner Codi Josephson, says the patterns on hand are easy enough for people to finish in a few hours and give to the Library.
“We’re happy to do this,” Josephson says. “We love the Library.”
Home Ec. Workshop will have donation forms on hand Saturday. Forms are also available online at http://www.icpl.org/artsandcrafts/.
For those unable to attend Saturday’s event at Home Ec. Workshop, donations may be dropped off at the Library, 123 S. Linn St, any time between now and December 5. Popular items at last year’s bazaar included knitted or crocheted hats, scarves, and blankets, greeting and post cards with an Iowa or Iowa City theme, ornaments, jewelry, ceramic bowls and mugs, small quilts and wall hangings, children’s toys and baby items.
The Iowa City Public Library Friends Foundation Arts & Crafts Bazaar will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, December 7, in Meeting Room A at the Iowa City Public Library. Proceeds from the sale will support the Iowa City Public Library Friends Foundation’s gift to Library summer reading programs.
