The Iowa City Public Library Bookmobile can once again be found on the streets of Iowa City. ICPL staff have missed connecting with community members on the Bookmobile and can't wait to see your (masked) faces once again! As of Monday, March 1 the ICPL Bookmobile is offering Hold Pickup Service at the following community locations:
Monday
9:30 to 10:30 a.m., North Dodge Hy-Vee
2:30 to 3:30 p.m., St. Mark’s United Methodist Church
Tuesday
9:30 to 10:30 a.m., Waterfront Hy-Vee
2:30 to 3:30 p.m., Pepperwood Plaza
Wednesday
9:30 to 10:30 a.m., GreenState Credit Union
2:30 to 3:30 p.m., Mercer Park
Thursday
9:30 to 10:30 a.m., First Avenue Hy-Vee
2:30 to 3:30 p.m., Breckenridge Estates
When visiting the ICPL Bookmobile, please keep in mind physical browsing on the mobile library is not yet available. After placing a hold and selecting the ICPL Bookmobile as a pickup location, patrons are encouraged to wait for notification that their holds have become available on the Bookmobile. Library users will then be invited to visit the Bookmobile at any of the previously identified locations throughout the week. Upon arrival, visitors will have their items placed on an exterior table for contactless pickup.
In accordance with municipal and county mandates, all individuals visiting the ICPL Bookmobile are required to wear masks and maintain a social distance of at least 6 feet. Hand sanitizer and face masks will be available to members of the public. The Iowa City Public Library is currently is Phase 3 of its reopening plan.
