Save the Date: Children's Day of the Iowa Arts Festival


This event is a celebration of the visual and performing arts and is part of the Iowa Arts Festival and City of Iowa City's Summer of the Arts. It is free of charge and includes an adult, teen and children's summer reading program kickoff as well as music, magic, storytelling, hands-on art activities, various performances outside on the City Plaza.

Please note: in case of rain, the event will be held inside the Iowa City Public Library.

Join the fun with the many activity centers including ICPL's "Dream Big...Read" Summer Reading Program Registration, Splish Splash Waterworks: Bubble Factory, Toddler Duck Pond and Iowa Children's Museum's make-a-duck-headband, Music in Motion: Yahoo Drummers, Kindermusik of West Music, Music Together with Preucil School of Music, Television Art Dress-Up with PATV, Animal Kingdom with Witty Kitties Reptile Wrangling, the Iowa City Animal Care and Adoption Center, R.E.A.D. Therapy Dogs of Johnson County, A Rainbow of Crafts with the Iowa City Craft Guild and Beadology, Making Magic and Balloon Animals with Quad Cities Magic Club, Worm Wrangling and Green Thumb Fun with Soilmate's Scott Koepke, Art Adventures with Blick Art Materials, ICPL's Face Painting, Jack Neuzil's Giant Dinosaurs and Archaeolgy Dig with University of Iowa Museum of Natural History, and Chess Challenge with Douglas Narveson.
