Greater Iowa City Dollars for Scholars - Show Choir Concert
Thursday, January 5th at 7:30 p.m. in the West High Auditorium. $3.00 tickets for students
Your $3.00 won't be wasted! Proceeds from ticket sales benefit the Greater Iowa City Dollars for Scholars, which awards post-secondary education scholarships to graduates of City, West, Tate, and Regina High Schools. The concert features West High's Showtime and Good Time Company and City High's City Lights and Fourth Avenue Jazz Company.

Jason is Adult Services Coordinator. He oversees reference services offered at the Info Desk, Switchboard, Digital Media Lab, Koza Family Teen Center, and Page Station. He coordinates programming opportunities for adults and teens.
I first heard of this band while watching the famous Nirvana "Unplugged" session as a teen. I really enjoyed the three songs they performed, somehow I never sought out the original material. This year I've been making an effort to find bands/albums from past decades that I'm unfamiliar with and stumbled across Meat Puppets II on a list. Such a great album! An interesting mix of psych-punk and country twang sounds with spacey/jokey philosophical lyrics delivered in a quivering slacker voice. -Jason
