Press ReleaseChild and Adult CPR Training at ICPL

In the event of a life threatening emergency like a heart attack or choking, every minute before help arrives is important. What do you do after calling 911?

Hands-only CPR, use of an Automated External Defibrillator and choking response can be learned in as little as 30 minutes. Johnson County Ambulance will provide 30-minute CPR training at the Iowa City Public Library on Tuesday, August 15, in Meeting Room A.

This short workshop, consisting of a video presentation followed by hands-on practice led by Johnson County Ambulance staff, can give you the basic lifesaving skills you need to make a difference in those first few minutes until emergency services arrive.

The sessions will be held every half hour, beginning at 9 a.m. The last session will begin at 11:30 a.m. Each training session is limited to 15 people. Registration is required. To register, go to http://calendar.icpl.org/#2017-08-15 or call the library at 319-356-5200.
