Celebrate bookmobiles with the Iowa City Public Library and Antelope Lending Library on National Bookmobile Day!
Visit the bookmobiles as well as other vehicles that provide important mobile services in town, such as a fire truck, police car, Table to Table van, UIHC Mobile Clinic, UI Mobile Art Museum, an IC Transit bus, the Don Diego Tacos food truck, and more!
The Dandelion Stompers will perform, and there will be free activities courtesy of Zen Den, massage therapist Jamie Nevins, and a mini zine craft courtesy of Katie Ross. Iowa City Parks and Recreation will offer a bookmaking workshop. Help us paint a Little Free Library (courtesy of the City of Literature). Jen Jordan, Iowa City's Recycling Coordinator, will be on hand to talk about the new food waste collection program. Have your face painted, get your hands on the bookmobiles' summer schedules, and nab a special bookmobile-themed giveaway. Enjoy a sweet treat thanks to HyVee's donation of cookies.
Stop by Mercer Park and welcome ICPL's new bookmobile to town!
(Rain location is the Mercer Park Community Room.)
