No holds. No waiting. Everyone can read it at the same time. It's a dream come true, isn't it?
Libraries Transform has partnered with OverDrive to create a new digital book club for all U.S. libraries that work with OverDrive. It's first #LTBookPick is Kassandra Montag's After the Flood.
The digital book club runs until October 21st. Readers can chime in on social media using the #LTBookPick hashtag. After October 21st, the e-book goes back to checking out one copy at a time.
Why are they doing this? The digital book club was formed in response to publishers making digital book buying even harder for libraries. With the #LTBookPick, library patrons have a fantastic book that is guaranteed to be available from October 7 through the 21st.
Don't know what to read next? Immerse yourself in After the Flood!
Adding this book to me "to read" list. I cataloged this book when it came in, and I couldn't take my eyes off the sections on what it was like to be a political reporter covering candidates while they were in Iowa. The journalist details her times in Des Moines and Cedar Rapids, writing about how different candidates were perceived at the State Fair. It's a book published by a mainstream publisher, and it mentions the butter cow! -Melody
