Summer is coming and so is a new Bookmobile schedule! The Summer Bookmobile schedule will run from June 3 - Aug 16. All stops are open to the public and offer free parking (with the exception of the UI College of Medicine Courtyard stop).
Schedule information is available at icpl.org/bookmobile and in printed schedules available in the Library and on the Bookmobile. Summer schedule highlights include Stories in the Park events on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays consisting of a morning of stories, music, and special events as well as Bookmobile service. Also look for the Bookmobile at Party in Park events on Thursday evenings.
Are you thinking ahead about the Library's Summer Reading Program? So are we! Pre-registration is happening now at the Library, on the Bookmobile, and online. The Bookmobile will be fully stocked with Summer Reading prizes for all ages throughout the season.
The Bookmobile has a dedicated collection of over 2,000 new books and movies available for checkout with your ICPL Library Card. We also pull materials from the Downtown Library collection to feature on the Bookmobile.
Did you know you can also request to pick-up your Holds or Interlibrary Loans on the Bookmobile? It’s easy to indicate “Bookmobile” as your pick-up location when you reserve an item or make a request for an Interlibrary Loan. We’ll let you know when your item is ready for pickup on the Bookmobile.
Materials checked out on the ICPL Bookmobile may be returned to the Bookmobile, Downtown Library, or to one of our remote book returns, conveniently located at the 1st Avenue HyVee Pharmacy Drive (812 S. First Avenue) or the Mormon Trek location of the University of Iowa Community Credit Union (825 Mormon Trek Blvd).
The ICPL Bookmobile stops at elementary schools, retirement residences, parking lots, and mobile home communities throughout Iowa City and a couple locations in rural Johnson County. Stops at the Bookmobile are quick and easy.
