New to ICPL: Flipster digital magazines!

Flipster Digital Magazines

 

ICPL library patrons can now check out Flipster, a digital magazine service from Ebsco, thanks to the complimentary access they are providing during this public health emergency. 

Getting Flipster digital magazines is easy. Here are your options:

  1. Visit ICPL’s Flipster collection, then enter your library card number and PIN/password.
  2. Download the Flipster app, available for Apple, Android, and Kindle Fire devices. 

Please note that the Flipster collection is limited to cardholders who live in Iowa City, Hills, Lone Tree, University Heights, and rural Johnson County.

    I reserved this book after I read that it was like as if The Great British Baking Show written with the cast of Clue. Okay, so there's no Professor Plum or Colonel Mustard (savory mustard plum pie, anyone?), but the characters are as hyperbolical and hilarious as the original ensemble. I let out some cackles during the beginning monologues of each character, fully in on the inside jokes of reality TV baking and cooking show fandom. Don't go into this book looking for nuance and subtlety. You will want over-the-topness with this story. -Melody

I have not been able to access the flipster Collection. The app asks me to get user ID from the library administrator. The access via I CPL says the server cannot be reached.Has ICPL dropped Flipster?

Hi, Frank! We haven't dropped Flipster. We did encounter an error recently that we had to fix. If you are using Flipster through ICPL's website, it should let you in with your library card and password. Double-check that you are putting your library card number in with no spaces or missed numbers.

The app is what changed recently. When you open the Flipster app, choose ICPL as the library and then enter your library card number. It should work as normal after that. If you don't see a field to enter your library card number, i.e., login ID, try uninstalling the app and reinstalling it.
