ICPL Bookmobile, Back in Action!

The Iowa City Public Library Bookmobile can soon be found again on the streets of Iowa City. Our staff have missed connecting with community members on the Bookmobile and can't wait to see your (masked) faces once again! Beginning on Monday, October 12 the ICPL Bookmobile will be offering Hold Pickup Service at the following community locations: 

Monday  

10 a.m. to Noon, North Dodge Hy-Vee

3 to 5 p.m., St. Mark’s United Methodist Church 

Tuesday 

10 a.m. to Noon, Waterfront Hy-Vee

3 to 5 p.m., Pepperwood Plaza 

Wednesday 

10 to Noon, First Avenue Hy-Vee

3 to 5 p.m., Mercer Park 

Thursday  

10 a.m. to Noon, GreenState Credit Union

3 to 5 p.m., Terry Trueblood 

Friday 

10 a.m. to Noon, Walmart

3 to 5 p.m., Breckenridge Estates 

When visiting the ICPL Bookmobile, please keep in mind physical browsing on the mobile library is not yet available. After placing a hold and selecting the ICPL Bookmobile as a pickup location, patrons are encouraged to wait for notification that their holds have become available on the Bookmobile. Library users will then be invited to visit the Bookmobile at any of the previously identified locations throughout the week. Upon arrival, visitors will have their items placed on an exterior table for contactless pickup.  

In accordance with municipal and county mandates, all individuals visiting the ICPL Bookmobile are required to wear masks and maintain a social distance of at least 6 feet. Hand sanitizer and masks will be available to members of the public.
