A book challenge is an attempt to remove or restrict access to a book or other material in a library collection or school curriculum based on an individual, group, or government official’s objection to the content, language, religious viewpoint, or theme of the book. A Challenged book is one that has been objected to  and is either undergoing review, or has been retained. A Banned book is one that has been removed as the result of a challenge.

There are many lists of banned or challenged books available on the internet: https://www.ala.org/advocacy/bbooks/frequentlychallengedbooks/decade2019

Not a traditional book group, Let's Talk Books is a series of casual online conversations about books. We meet on Zoom the 2nd and 4th Tuesday evening of each month and the genre or theme for the discussion changes each time. We each bring a few titles to share, and by the end of the discussion we all have a few new titles on our to-be-read lists.

Register here and you'll receive a confirmation email with the Zoom login details. You'll also get a reminder email a few days before the event. Everyone is welcome!
