Warm Up with a Book: ICPL's Winter Reading Program Awaits You!

Embrace the winter season with the perfect companion—a good book. The Iowa City Public Library (ICPL)  invites book enthusiasts of all ages, starting at three years old, to participate in our "Winter Reading Program." Spanning from Dec. 16, 2023, to Feb. 16, 2024, this program offers a perfect chance for ICPL's readers to delve into a world filled with stories and adventures.

A Program for Every Age

Young Readers (Aged 3 and up):
Children are in for a treat! By reading and logging 20 books, either on their reading record or through our online platform, they earn a fabulous "Spare Me Bowling" coupon in Iowa City. What's more? Each participant gets to choose between a cozy hot cocoa mug or a brand-new book of their choice. These rewards are available while supplies last and are limited to one per child.

Teens and Adults:
Get ready for the return of our much-loved Book BINGO! Dive into your favorite genres, explore new ones, and fill up your BINGO card. Completing your card gives you a chance to win either a cozy hot cocoa mug. Like with our younger readers, these prizes are available while supplies last and one per person.

How to Join?

Participating in the ICPL's Winter Reading Program is easy and simple! Sign up at the Help Desk, the Children’s Desk, on the Bookmobile, or online at icpl.org/wrp. It's a straightforward process that opens the door to a winter filled with literary joy.

Rewards for Completion

Complete the program by February 16, 2024, to receive a special 'Thank You' gift for joining us in this wonderful journey of reading. While supplies last, participants can choose from the following rewards:

• Children: A choice of either a fun, themed hot cocoa mug or an exciting book, and a SpareMe prize!
• Teens and Adults: A hot cocoa mug.
